Alana Evans does the Daily Show!

pwvfaw83I was given the gig of a lifetime a few weeks ago. Thanks to my publicist and good friend James Bartholet, I was hired to do a fun skit for Comedy Central’s hit show, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah! While an full piece was aired on the network this week, Comedy Central has put up this hilarious bit not featured on the show. Check me out as I play Roy Wood Jr’s wife in the silly little skit! It was a lot of fun and I truly enjoyed being a part of it.

Alana crashes NASA in Huntsville, Alabama!

NASA Alabama 68I was visiting Huntsville for a charity event this holiday season. We were driving along the highway in an unfamiliar area when we saw them… the beautiful rockets pointed at the sky, screaming for us to check them out! Like children, we squealed with excitement when our local friends agreed to take us to NASA Space and Rocket Center. With just two hours before close, we made our way through the awesome museum and grounds. I took a ton of photos to commemorate the amazing experience! Kiki Daire, Lucky Star, Evan Stone and myself are featured in the gallery. We had a BLAST for sure!!

Here are a few photos… for the entire gallery, click here.

Alana plays Zombie Party

stream picCheck out the replay of our SuperPinkNinja and her Hump Day Gamer Stream for www.Vidfall.com This week she played Zombie Party! This multiplayer over head scrolling dungeon game offers several different modes of gameplay like Adventure, which is an all out zombie fest with waves of zombies coming at you. At the end of each level, you fight a different boss to complete the level and move on. Dungeon plays like Zelda, with an over head view and less creatures, making this a more mellow style of game play. You progress through different floors, clearing each level and collecting power ups. Arcade mode has you taking on a huge swarm of zombies once with the end goal being to defeat 10,000 zombies within the time limit. Finally, we have Death Match which is the bad ass PVP assassination zone. You compete against bots or friends and straight kill each other. Enough said.

Zombie Party is awesome! Check out the stream.

Alana as a Nurse from Silent Hill

comikaze 03I love making my own costumes, but I have never worked with plaster of paris. Silent Hill is one of my all time favorite video game series, and I’ve always wanted to cosplay as one of the scary nurses from the game. Even though this was uncharted territory, I dove right in to the project. After doing some online research, I found a few great videos and got started. After I completed the mask, I painted up my nurses costume and shoes to match. On Halloween, I painted up my arms, using painted stockings to cover my legs, and I spent the day scaring the crap out of people! I was so shocked that most people couldn’t tell if I was real or a statue. Mission Accomplished! I even met a fellow nurse and took a couple of pics with her. Here are some photos-

Our Photos from Comikaze

comikaze 16This year’s Comikaze show took place during Halloween weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center. As always, I was volunteering for the Hollywood Sci Fi Museum. On the first day of the show, I walked around in my awesome Bernie Sanders Obi Wan tank and took pics of some of my favorite cosplayers. For Halloween, I had spent weeks creating my first horror video game inspired cosplay… a nurse from Silent Hill! I made the mask myself from watching tutorial videos on youtube. This was my first attempt at a plaster of paris mask and I was quite proud of the results! Check out the photos here!

Batman Arkham Knight video review

Alana Evans plays and reviews Batman Arkham Knight on the Xbox One console. While the game is absolutely awesome, playing it one the Xbox One was a terrible choice. The game froze repeatedly, which was incredibly annoying. Thankfully, the save feature is pretty accurate, so I was able to continue my game play close to where it locked up. Check out the video and be sure to subscribe to my youtube channel.

Our trip to San Diego Comic Con

sdcc_small_05Every year, we all wait for the big one. The biggest Comic Convention of the year… San Diego Comic Con. Due to all of my awesome volunteer work with the Hollywood Sci Fi Museum, I am lucky to be one of the chosen few volunteers who actually gets to attend SDCC. With my great friends Penny Lane, Tyler, Karina, and head of the museum Huston, we all work tirelessly to help raise donations for the upcoming mecca of sci fi, the Hollywood Sci Fi Museum. This year we had an incredible replica of Doctor Who’s Tardis for attendees to take their photo in. It was definitely a lot of fun.

Each day of the show, I wore a different cosplay outfit. Thursday I was Lady Link, which I made myself. Friday I wore a latex nurse Harley Quinn, thanks to my pal Penny. We swapped costumes for the day, and she wore my Catwoman catsuit, which she looked quite hot in! I saved my favorite cosplay for Saturday. I worked for weeks and weeks on my Ciri cosplay and I was so proud to showcase it at SDCC. I made everything from my sword to my tunic! I did get a little help sanding wood, lol, from Chris and my girl Michelle. It was definitely a lot of work, but it was well worth the payoff. To have people approach me, recognizing my character and commending my crafty work, made me feel incredible. A true highlight was running into the only other Witcher I saw at the con… a great Geralt and Triss! I was stoked to get the three of us together for a photo.

sdcc_small_01Besides all of the cosplay action and volunteer work, I definitely had a complete fangirl moment. The museum booth is often lucky enough to have famously talented actors and voice actors from different shows, movies, and even video games. John DiMaggio, the voice of Bender from Futurama as well as Jake from Adventure Time, just so happens to be the voice of MARCUS FENIX!!!! Yes! My true love from Gears of War, Marcus Fenix, whom I’ve also listed as one of my top five bangable video game characters, was sitting in front of me! I saw his character photo on the table and realized he was the voice. I instantly went into girly mode and got very excited! It was cool to see the look on John’s face when he could see I was a true fan of his work. In an instant, John began to do Marcus’ voice and I melted. He started doing one of the typical lines where Marcus is setting up the attack plan at the beginning of a mission. The cool part was when he said “Alana You’re coming with me!” It was right out of the game! Truly a moment I will never forget.

All in all, Comic Con kicked major butt for me this year. I love running into my favorite cosplay pals. Seeing Ela Darling and Sinn Sage was great! I had an amazing time with friends, and even had a cute boy reject me hahahaha There’s a first for everything right? Good times. And if that cute boy Dallas ever reads this… you’ve still got my number hahaha!
