From TellTale Games—
Fellow Survivors,

Today we can share an extended preview of the first six minutes of The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries.

The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries stars the iconic, blade-wielding character from Robert Kirkman’s best-selling comic books, portrayed in-game by award-winning actress Samira Wiley (Orange is the New Black).
Haunted by her past and coping with unimaginable loss and regret, the story explores Michonne across a three episode miniseries event. Players will dive into the mind of Michonne to discover what took her away from Rick, Carl, and the rest of her trusted group… and what brought her back.

In this premiere episode, ‘In Too Deep,’ Michonne joins Pete and his crew on the sailing ship The Companion as they cruise the coast for survivors and supplies. When a desperate signal for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew are lead further to the floating survivors’ colony of Monroe, which may just be harboring the person responsible for the carnage.

The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries will premiere its first of three episodes, ‘In Too Deep,’ this February 23rd on PC/Mac from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, the PlayStation®Network for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One® and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, followed by a release on compatible iOS devices via the App Store, and Android-based devices via Google Play and the Amazon App Store starting February 25th. The second episode in the miniseries, ‘Give No Shelter,’ will follow in the month of March, and conclude with the third episode, ‘What We Deserve,’ in April. All three episodes in the miniseries will be available for purchase at the cost of $14.99 USD or equivalent when the first episode debuts, including access to the second and third episodes as they become available.

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., July 21st, 2015 — Leading and award-winning developer and publisher of digital entertainment Telltale Games and HBO Global Licensing today announced the release of ‘A Nest of Vipers,’ the fifth of six episodes of Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series.

Based on the award-winning HBO television drama series, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series tells the story of House Forrester. Caught up in the fight for the Iron Throne, they are placed in a precarious position where members of the household must do everything they can to prevent the house from meeting its doom.

The fifth episode is available now on PC/Mac from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, and on PlayStation®Network for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in North America (SCEA) and Europe (SCEE). The episode will be available July 22nd on the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One® and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and will be coming to compatible iOS devices via the App Store and to Android-based devices on July 23rd.

In this penultimate episode, the actions of every Forrester are vital to the survival of the house. Rodrik’s alliance with House Glenmore, and his defiance of the Whitehills, has drawn the ire of an even greater threat: Ramsay Snow. Far across the Narrow Sea in Essos, with Meereen now a free city, Asher is close to securing the army he desperately needs to return home and save his family. In King’s Landing, Mira’s activities at Tommen’s coronation have not escaped the attention of Margaery Tyrell, and Cersei has realized that the handmaiden may prove useful in her political games. Finally, beyond the Wall, Gared’s unlikely allies are reluctant to help in the search for the North Grove… but this far into the frozen wilds, Crows and Free Folk have a common enemy; and winter is coming.

“Faced with bloodthirsty pit-fighters, dangers North of the Wall, and equally perilous political maneuvering in King’s Landing, we’re putting players in the most action-packed episode of the season so far,” said Kevin Bruner, CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games. “Extremely difficult choices will fall upon House Forrester in a cliffhanger ending before the dramatic season finale that’s yet to come.”

The game series is based on the world, characters and events seen in the hit HBO TV show, which in turn is based on George R. R. Martin’s books (A Song of Ice and Fire). The events in the game series begin towards the end of Season Three of the series, and end right before the beginning of Season Five. Players visit familiar locations such as King’s Landing and The Wall, as well as unfamiliar locations such as Ironrath, the home of House Forrester.

The game is played from five different points of view. Each is either a direct Forrester family member, or a person in service to the House. Scattered across Westeros and Essos, each will play their part in seeking to save House Forrester from destruction.

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series – Episode 5: ‘A Nest of Vipers’ is rated ‘M’ (Mature) for Intense Violence, Blood and Gore, Sexual Themes, and Strong Language by the ESRB. Future content in the series is yet to be rated by the ESRB.

A look at Tales From The Borderlands…

Tales_from_the_Borderlands_cover_art

Tales from the Borderlands, from TellTale Games, is a story based reactionary game which relies on the “choose your own adventure” style of gaming. As the story plays out, you choose responses and actions that will actually drive your story through each episode. Decisions you make will affect the direction of the story, in the current episode, and future episodes as well. Every story is completely connected giving players unique experiences. Once completing an episode, you can choose to continue on to the next available episode, or restart the episode to check out the differences between the choices you make and how it affects the story. Characters that you interact with at times, will remember your responses, and it affects how they respond to you later. This programming ability is consistent with other TellTale games and adds to the replay value of each game.

I’ve played several other titles from Telltale Games, including The Walking Dead game, and there are noticeable improvements to character mobility and game play. In previous titles, character movement was limited, but in Tales of the Borderlands, you can move and interact with items with ease.

The 3D cell shading Art and design is perfect. You play as RHYS, a former Hyperion employee. Your nemesis becomes your boss, and demotes you to janitor after tossing your actual boss out of the airlock and into space! Talk about a bad day! As you’re swallowing your humility in your new bosses office, you overhear a conversation about scoring a vault key. If you’re new to the Borderlands world, vaults often contain vast amount of treasure, worth more than you’ll see in an entire lifetime. Vault hunters are constantly on the prowl, giving you stiff competition. As the story plays on, you’re given the ability to play a few other characters, like Fiona.

I have to say, being a fan of Borderlands, this new TellTale game is awesome! I’m looking forward to the rest of the episodes being released, and soon I’ll put up some actual gameplay for you to check out. Until then, give the game a playing!
